Our Mission

Improving cardiac care across Aotearoa

At the heart of our mission is the delivery of equitable, evidence-based cardiac care across Aotearoa New Zealand. Through the ANZACS-QI registry, we collect and analyse nationwide data on acute coronary syndrome (ACS), heart failure, and coronary procedures, giving clinicians, researchers, and health leaders the insights they need to improve outcomes and reduce inequities.

Support quality cardiac care

We support appropriate, evidence-based management of cardiac disease and other cardiovascular conditions, ensuring care is equitable regardless of age, sex, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, or rurality.

Drive improvements

We drive measurable improvements in the quality of cardiac care delivered in New Zealand’s hospitals to empower clinicians and health leaders with trusted data and insights.

ANZACS-QI Cardiac Risk Score Calculator

ANZACS-QI data was used to develop this calculator, which supports clinicians and their patients in decisions about dual antiplatelet therapy duration.
The ANZACS-QI calculator is designed for use on the day of hospital discharge to estimate the risk of ischaemic events and major bleeding occurring between 28 days and one year post-discharge, for patients who remain event-free at 28 days.
